I have been running in hoka clifton 7's for a while and wanted to try something a bit faster and thought I'd give these a go. So far, so good! Love them for faster runs. Also great service and really fast delivery! Will buy again in the future
The shoes is super light & very comfortable. I highly recommend if you want painless feet and smooth running. Will surely buy another for this brand.
Most cushioned shoe I’ve ever used. The fit is true to size and it’s feeling super comfortable after even 1-2 short runs. Only reason for not giving 5 stars is the upper section and laces are of a lesser quality than the Brooks runners I’ve been wearing for years. This is a great shoe.
Was apprehensive about purchasing a hydration pack as I haven’t used one before and was worried about how it would fit. I didn’t want to fork out a lot of money and end up with a product that wasn’t right for me. I’m 100% in love with it 😛
- Fits perfectly. Am doing long runs of 20+km and have had no issues with chafing or discomfort.
- Many useful pockets. Have been able to easily stash everything I need woth room to spare. I bought with the intent to stash compulsory gear for the Heyson 105 (50km) so am confident it will easily do the job.
- Bottle nozzle easy to drink from. I hate having to fight for my water so this was something that I was worried about but it comes out easily.
Would highly recommend this product!
The most prompt service and easy to navigate website. A delightful transaction. Still wearing shoes in.
I have bought a pair of ON Cloudstratus running shoes and really happy with the price and Delivery time. I surprised when this shoes delivered in less than 24 hours. I definitely recommend you to all my runners friends.
Thanks for your great service.
I thought I would take a chance on the SLabs, never having worn them, because they are so damned sexy. They are a great fast shoe with excellent spring and good road feel. Great breathability, which is fantastic for summer (but did make my toesies quite chilly on a frosty morning). Plus, once again, absolutely amazing service from blue mountains running company. Love you guys!
Brilliant for shorter distance trail running with great grip and feel for trail. Not as cushioned as the ATR Challengers having a much lower drop, but still pretty comfy. Good for people with tendency to roll ankles in the ATRs but who still love outer lining of the Hokkas for wide feet. Will be getting these again.
Hammer Bars, with their high quality nutrients, are my go to towards the back half of a long run or Ultra, or for a recovery snack or for those "feed me now" moments! I love them!
Love the taste, easy to chew & swallow,
No digestion issues & they provide the energy my body needs to keep going.
Thank you, thank you Blue Mountains Running co for stocking them!
Very impressed with this shoe so far, quality finish, fits to size and very comfortable. Used only for road runs so far, some trail running to come, great so far 👍. Service from BMRC was spot on, very happy to buy local!
I was after a shoe for easy mileage and have always been intrigued to try Hokas. I am super happy with the shoe. It is nice and roomy on my foot and is very comfortable for jogging. Particularly the day after a hard workout when my legs are a bit tired. I would definitely purchase them again.
Huge difference going from a pair of Nike Air Pegasus 35s to these. Superb energy return! These shoes are an excellent option at a cheaper price point than carbon fibre shoes. It really is a super shoe that can basically do it all (tempos, long runs, races) No regrets whatsoever. Highly recommend.
Coming from the Cloudstratus I went to the Cloudflow Gen 1 to try and get off my heals and get to a mid foot strike. I loved them so much I went back for seconds on the new model. First time I’ve ever done that with any shoe. I’ve read reviews that they are a little firm for Half Marathon or Marathon distance but I just haven’t experienced that for myself. I think there is a 3rd helping next year. Love them.
I have been suffering from terrible plantar fasciitis for around 12 months. After a bit of research I purchased my Hoka One One, Bondi 7’s on special and they are amazing! Incredibly comfortable and supportive. The pain in my feet and knees has decreased significantly. I am back doing over 15,000 steps a day. Best shoes ever!
I also want to say a huge thanks you for the fabulous personal service I received from Blue Mountains Running Co. I ordered online click and collect and received them delivered to my doorstep the next evening. I was stoked and their beautiful little message was so great too. I will definitely continue to support this brilliant local business.
Visual and static test:
The stack is higher than most performance trail running shoes and they are not a minimalist shoe. The outsole is agressive with big lugs.
It's a snug fit but it doesn't feel tight like an slab that I would usually use however you don't need to pull on the shoe laces like crazy to actually fill firm and secure. This is what I want from a shoe that I will use to tackle rough terrain especially downhill.
The running test:
I did two runs of 1:30 and 2h on open firetrails, some steep up and down sections in the Blue Mountains.
The first impression on the undulating sections is a feeling of always having more to give, probably the speedroll. They are comfy but not soft and the response at every step is bouncy. I assume this comes from the midsole.
As I hit the steep downhills, the support made me feel confident at every landing, the foot doesn't move inside and they are stable for a high stacked shoe. The grip is solid even on loose ground.
Uphill I guess it comes more to fitness, the grip is good and they don't feel heavy.
I haven't tackled particularly technical single trails yet. My second run in the rain was amazing with a very good grip.
First impressions make it the shoe of choice for 6FT or UTA.
What I would improve?
The outsole is definitely more agressive than need to be for most days in
Australia. The profile reminds me of a Soft Ground version of the Salomon Sense SLab. An option with shorter lugs, less spaced would make it even better.
